Semiconductor Venture Fair V, Millbrae, CA – March 6, 2006 -
SemiSouth Laboratories today announced that participants at Semiconductor
Venture Fair V last week named the Mississippi-based technology developer of
silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors and electronic materials for
commercial and government markets, as one of the top five most promising
emerging companies.
More than 70 companies
participated in the venture fair held in Millbrae,
CA. The event provided a platform for
semiconductor technology companies, to present their visions and business plans
before a national audience of venture capitalist and strategic investors.
This recognition is a true
honor and comes as the company embarks on a new capital funding campaign in
anticipation of future growth,” said Dr. Jeffrey B. Casady, SemiSouth president
and co-founder. “The next round of financing we secure will enable us to
leverage our silicon carbide technology and our new, nearly completed silicon
carbide manufacturing clean room, to seek a larger presence in the overall
power electronics market.”
The Semiconductor Venture Fair is an annual event that brings CEOs
from 75 handpicked semiconductor technology, product and service companies seeking capital funding together with venture
capitalists, corporate investors, and strategic investors who are looking for
investment opportunities, strategic alliances and access to emerging
technologies. Companies who have presented at past Semiconductor Venture
Fairs have raised more than $2.8 billon in capital funding. Following
the conference, the participating CEOs and investors voted to elect the top
five most promising companies that participated in the conference.
