STARKVILLE, Miss. – September 16, 2005 - A leader in the
development of silicon carbide (SiC) electronics materials and electrical
components, SemiSouth today announced it has
been selected to participate in the 9th Annual Tennessee Valley
Venture Forum to be held October 6-7 at the Knoxville Convention Center.
“This is an opportunity for
SemiSouth to highlight the business opportunities that exist in the
semiconductor industry to a regional audience that has very few such businesses,”
said Jeffrey B. Casady, SemiSouth president and co-founder. “Silicon Carbide is an emerging semiconductor
technology for power electronics. With
the global emphasis on power efficiency and energy savings, silicon carbide-based
electronics are expected to be the next evolutionary technology for power-based
applications ranging from power supplies to hybrid electric vehicles.”
The Tennessee Valley Venture
Forum is a venture capital conference presented by Technology 2020, Knox County
and the City of Knoxville.
It will showcase 15 to 20 of the Tennessee
Valley’s most promising
companies. SemiSouth is among the companies selected to present their business
plans to an audience of the nation’s top institutional and individual investors
and professional service providers. Investors,
in turn, get an early inside look at some of the
region’s most promising technology companies.
