Production Supervisor
SemiSouth has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor working
with the SiC power devices fabrication facility located in Starkville,
MS.
Summary:
The position reports to the Production Manager and is a key member of
the Operations Group. The successful candidate will provide
direct supervision, mentoring and development for non-exempt employees.
Responsibilities:
• Establishing strategic plans to ensure production schedules are met within established quality and cost objectives.
• Lead manufacturing organization to meet production goals while
implementing best practices to minimize scrap, reduce cycle time, and
improve on time delivery.
• Effectively interface with multiple customers, associates,
managers, maintenance, process and device engineers, and process
technicians to identify and resolve quality and line issues in the
fab.
• Drive process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilize a cross functional approach to problem solving, working
with all available manufacturing resources to achieve company
goals.
• Maintain daily production schedules and ensure safety, quality
and production requirements are met. Track and coordinate department
manpower, production, and budget.
• Set and monitor WIP and equipment priorities
• Plan and assign work, implement cross training of production personnel.
• Resolve manufacturing issues on the production floor and implement Best Practices in the manufacturing process.
• Ensure manufacturing area adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements and quality standards.
• Develop and implement cost improvements projects through analysis of manufacturing techniques and available technologies.
• Implement continuous improvement plans and lead/facilitate continuous improvement teams as necessary.
• Review and approve production lot documentation and manufacturing records.
• Evaluate subordinates and recommend appropriate step increase,
promotion and conducts regular performance reviews with employees.
• Provide counsel and assistance to employees in compliance with SemiSouth’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

• Ability to administer and direct workplace policies and procedures.
• Understanding of semiconductor process flow, technology issues,
total productive manufacturing, and theory of constraint and/or
applicability of theory.

• Ensure manufacturing personnel are operating in compliance with company safety practices.
• Conduct all work with a positive attitude and with a continuous focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• BS or BA degree in related discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residence required.
