Failure Analysis Engineer

SemiSouth has an immediate opening for a Failure Analysis Engineer working with SiC power device products.  

Summary:
This position will work closely with the manufacturing organization to optimize device yield and electrical performance. 

Responsibilities:
  • Perform In-depth Electrical and Physical Analysis on SiC devices in order to find the failure mechanism causing the product to fail.
  • Develop and enhance the current FA Technique in order to resolve analysis of complex devices.
  • Provide training and guidelines of FA analysis techniques to other engineers.
  • Good Customer Service attitude to support wafer fab, manufacturing line and external customers.
  • Posses effective analytical and decision making skills.
  • Able to work with minimum guidance and delivers during critical time to meet customer demand.
  • Perform construction analysis on next generation SiC devices.
  • Monitor yields and drive defect reduction programs with the product and process engineering groups.
  • Take leadership role to establish a close working relationship between the manufacturing facility and the Orlando Engineering Center (OEC).  

Minimum Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2 years recent experience as a Quality or Failure Analysis Engineer in a semiconductor environment.
  • Experience in basic IC design, testing, fabrication and manufacturing processes is an added advantage.
  • Familiar with the operation of FA Techniques and equipment eg; Sat, SEM, EDX.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-7 years work experience as a Failure Analysis Engineer.
  • Strong self-motivation and project management experience.
  • Ability to interface with people of different backgrounds and at every level of the organization.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams to solve problems and implement process enhancements.
  • Strong track record of effective problem-solving, good engineering judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong drive to produce results in timely fashion and have strong sense of competitive urgency.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically.
